Mattress Care & Warranty

Our Approach to Mattress Quality and Care

At Furniture Spot & Mattress Outlet, we select brand new mattresses designed for everyday residential use and long-term comfort. We take pride in offering a strong selection of mattresses made in Canada, supporting Canadian manufacturing while providing reliable quality for our local customers.

Our approach emphasizes proper care, correct support, and clear warranty standards to help customers make informed decisions and understand how mattress performance is evaluated over time. Our in-store team is available to help customers understand mattress options and comfort considerations before purchase, and online customers may contact us with questions for guidance prior to ordering.

Mattresses naturally adjust during the break-in period as comfort layers conform to the body. Clear care guidelines and warranty definitions help distinguish between normal changes in comfort and manufacturing defects covered under warranty.

We encourage customers to review care requirements, use appropriate bed support, and protect their mattress from damage or staining. By clearly outlining care expectations and warranty terms, we ensure consistent handling of warranty claims and fair outcomes for our local in-store and online customers.

Mattress Care Guidelines

Proper care is required to maintain the condition of your mattress and preserve warranty eligibility.

Body impressions and surface changes are normal during the break-in period and indicate that comfort layers are conforming to your body. These are expected and do not indicate a defect unless they exceed warranty thresholds.

Recommended Care

  • Rotate your mattress every two months

  • Use a waterproof mattress protector at all times

  • Use a proper bed frame with center support and no gaps greater than six (6) inches

  • Replace an old or worn foundation when purchasing a new mattress

  • Lift the mattress from the bottom when moving. Handles are for positioning only

Avoid the Following

  • Do not place a board between the mattress and foundation

  • Do not bend or fold the mattress

  • Do not stand, jump, or walk on the mattress

  • Do not use dry-cleaning fluids or chemical cleaners

  • Do not place the mattress directly on the floor

Improper care, misuse, or unsupported setups may void warranty coverage.

Mattress Setup Standards

Proper setup is required to maintain mattress performance and warranty eligibility.

A proper bed frame with center support is required
No gaps greater than six (6) inches between support slats
Mattresses must not be placed directly on the floor
Adjustable bases must be compatible with the mattress

Damage caused by improper support or setup is not covered under warranty.

Before You Purchase

Please confirm the following before completing your purchase:

  • The mattress will fit through doorways, stairways, and hallways

  • The mattress height is suitable for your bed frame, headboard, and furniture

  • Your bed frame or foundation provides proper support

  • A waterproof mattress protector has been purchased to protect your mattress

Mattress Warranty Overview

All new mattresses purchased from Furniture Spot & Mattress Outlet include a manufacturer Limited Warranty, unless the mattress is sold as Clearance, Final Sale, Open Box, or As-Is. Warranty duration varies by product and is listed in the product description.

Warranty coverage applies to the original purchaser only, located in Canada, and begins on the date of purchase.

Normal Mattress Changes vs Defects

During normal use, mattresses will experience changes as materials adjust to the sleeper. These changes are expected and are not considered defects.

Normal changes include:

Minor body impressions
Changes in feel related to the break-in period

Warranty coverage applies only to manufacturer defects, such as structural failure or body impressions exceeding warranty thresholds.
